The Motorola Droid RAZR is part of a strong brand of mobile handsets which began life as a premium brand. Now the Motorola handsets are aimed at all users and the development of the technology has made it a must-have once again. This particular handset is thin, far thinner than many smartphones on the market. All of the physical buttons on the handset can be found on the right hand side and there are micro SIM and SD slots on the bottom of the phone. Users will be able to enjoy the 8 GB of on-board storage as well as the 16GB microSD card which comes with the phone.
Overview
The design of the Motorola Droid RAZR uses Gorilla Glass for toughness, Kevlar and aluminum for the casing and it has the feel of a luxury handset. The display onscreen is perhaps not as good as on other smartphones but at the same time there is not a lot to complain about as images are clear and it has a good standard of brightness.

Power
It has a good processor in the form of a 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4430 and this is speedy for most of the functions on the phone. The Android operating system is reasonably good and the user will be able to download a lot of apps for the phone. Battery life is not the greatest and heavy users will drain it in a few hours. Light to moderate users could get a day or more from it though.
Camera
The camera on the handset is 8 megapixels and you can take a good quality video on it too. There are plenty of features on the phone which will help you to take a good image. The speed of photo taking is also fast, so you can take several shots within seconds of each other. The video on the phone is good and files compress fairly small helping you to save space in the storage.
Using the Phone
The handset has a number of apps which are already loaded onto the phone and most reviewers see these as being superfluous. However, you can uninstall some of the apps and load up a few that you will use. However, there are some which cannot be moved which will be a negative point for those who like to completely customize their homepages. There are some features which are preloaded such as QuickOffice and Motoprint, but reviewers are very happy with the addition of Smart Actions. You can make use of this to improve the life of the battery and it can carry out tasks such as switching off the ringer and sending out automatic text messages.
Is it the Smartphone You have been Waiting For?
So is this a good handset to choose? The short answer is yes, particularly if you are new to smartphone usage. The camera is good, the processor is good and battery life is not bad. There is very little to complain about here and you will find that you have a good looking handset for a reasonable price.
